Early Morning Cremation
This shorter 20 minute service is held close to Putney at Mortlake Crematorium at either 9am or 9.30am with up to 10 attendees. This is ideal if you prefer a smaller, more intimate family led service to a full funeral ceremony. The service can be personalised with music, readings and tributes and we also offer a visit to see the person who has died at our nearby Chiswick premises, should you wish.
The Early Morning Cremation service often appeals to families who are seeking a lower cost alternative but who also want to be present, connected and part of the final step of their loved one’s journey
£2,300 inclusive
Unattended Cremation
This service is often known as a Direct Cremation and is where there is no ceremony and no attendees. It is the most minimal and least expensive option and has the least amount of choice, however at Exit Here your loved one will be treated with the same level of care and respect as with our bespoke funeral service. Unlike direct cremation providers we will tell you when they are brought into our care at either our Chiswick or Crouch End homes, and when and where the cremation will be (usually at Mortlake or Islington & St Pancras crematoriums). You can also choose a song for the ceremony, place personal items in the coffin and we will take a photo of the coffin at the crematorium, if you wish.

Cemeteries and crematoria serving the Putney area
Anyone can be cremated or buried in any cemetery or crematorium in the country. The funeral doesn’t have to be in Putney, although the rates will vary for non residents. So although we're a funeral director in Putney, we work with crematoria and cemeteries right across the UK.
But if the person who has died is a Putney resident, most families or friends will usually choose somewhere close to Putney for the funeral. There will probably be ties to the area, or a family member is already buried or interned there, and of course, there’s the benefit of residents’ rates for London Borough of Wandsworth residents.
The nearest cemeteries and crematoria to Putney include:
Wandsworth Cemetery
Situated in Earlsfield and managed by the London Borough of Wandsworth in partnership with Enable, Wandsworth Cemetery was established by the Wandsworth Burial Board in 1878 and enlarged in 1898. The entrance gates to the cemetery are Grade II listed, and there is a small Victorian chapel where services can be conducted.
There is now limited burial space at the cemetery but there is an opportunity to purchase a reclaimed burial plot.

There are two chapels at Putney Vale. The West Chapel is a Church of England style chapel with high beamed ceilings and ornate woodwork. There’s seating for 80 with some standing at the back. The East Chapel is a modern bright chapel used for multi-denomination funerals and non-religious services. The East Chapel can accommodate 80 with some standing.
There are Gardens of Remembrance throughout the grounds, where ashes can be scattered. And there is also a modern mausoleum, with single chamber units, that can accommodate one coffin or casket.
