Cemeteries and crematoria serving the Putney area

Anyone can be cremated or buried in any cemetery or crematorium in the country. The funeral doesn’t have to be in Putney, although the rates will vary for non residents. So although we're a funeral director in Putney, we work with crematoria and cemeteries right across the UK.

But if the person who has died is a Putney resident, most families or friends will usually choose somewhere close to Putney for the funeral. There will probably be ties to the area, or a family member is already buried or interned there, and of course, there’s the benefit of residents’ rates for London Borough of Wandsworth residents.

The nearest cemeteries and crematoria to Putney include:

Wandsworth Cemetery
Situated in Earlsfield and managed by the London Borough of Wandsworth in partnership with Enable, Wandsworth Cemetery was established by the Wandsworth Burial Board in 1878 and enlarged in 1898. The entrance gates to the cemetery are Grade II listed, and there is a small Victorian chapel where services can be conducted.

There is now limited burial space at the cemetery but there is an opportunity to purchase a reclaimed burial plot.

The East Chapel is a modern bright chapel used for multi-denomination funerals and non-religious services. The East Chapel can accommodate 80 with some standing.

There are Gardens of Remembrance throughout the grounds, where ashes can be scattered. And there is also a modern mausoleum, with single chamber units, that can accommodate one coffin or casket.
